IMPACTING PATIENT CARE
Contributions to clinical practice through comprehensive research
LEARNING BY DOING
Clinical trials
The Homi-Lung project includes several pivotal clinical trials designed to explore and validate new treatments and diagnostic tools for patients recovering from pneumonia. These trials focus on:
- Evaluating the efficacy of immunotherapies in preventing and treating pneumonia.
- Investigating biomarkers that can predict cardiovascular complications post-pneumonia.
- Longitudinally tracking patient outcomes to identify early signs of disease progression.
Stay tuned for detailed results and updates on Homi-Lung clinical trials as they progress. You can also check related clinical trials such as SAVE-LONG, ENIRRIs and BCG PRIME.
CHANGING CLINICAL PRACTICE
Influencing medical guidelines
One of the core objectives of Homi-Lung is to translate research findings into actionable guidelines that improve patient care. The project aims to:
- Develop evidence-based guidelines for the management of pneumonia patients at risk of cardiovascular diseases.
- Influence national and international health policies by providing robust clinical evidence.
- Collaborate with medical societies to integrate new research findings into existing clinical guidelines.
TECHNOLOGY TRANSFERENCE
Advancing technology readiness levels (TRLs)
The Homi-Lung project is dedicated to moving innovative medical technologies from the research phase to clinical application. Our activities include:
- TRL 1-3: Early-stage research focusing on identifying and validating new biomarkers and therapeutic targets.
- TRL 4-6: Developing prototypes and conducting pilot studies to demonstrate feasibility and safety.
- TRL 7-9: Implementing large-scale clinical trials and working towards regulatory approval and commercialization of new technologies.
