On the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, Dr Ana Motos, RESPIRE4 Fellow at Nantes Université and Postdoctoral Researcher, participated in 100tífiques 2025, connecting with school students in Catalonia to share her journey in science and her work in the Homi-Lung project.
100tífiques is a science outreach initiative developed in Catalonia by the Fundació Catalana per a la Recerca i la Innovació (FCRI) and the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST). Its aim is to bring real women scientists into classrooms across the region to make science more visible, relatable and inclusive.
Dr Ana Motos engaged online with 150 first-year secondary students (1er d’ESO) from IES Jaume I in Salou /Catalonia, Spain) introducing them, among others, to the Homi-Lung project. She explained how pneumonia can lead to long-term cardiovascular complications and highlighted the importance of international collaboration in medical research.
Thank you, Ana, for your inspiring talk and for helping bridge the gap between cutting-edge science and the classroom!
