On the occasion of World Sepsis Day, the French Society of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine (SFAR) released a special video highlighting current efforts to improve sepsis care and reduce its impact on patients.

Among the experts featured is Prof. Antoine Roquilly, from Nantes Université and Nantes University Hospital (CHU de Nantes), and coordinator of Homi-Lung. In his contribution, he discusses the importance of developing non-antibiotic therapeutic approaches against severe infections such as sepsis, alongside research initiatives including HAP2 and Homi-Lung.

Sepsis remains a major challenge in intensive care medicine, and better understanding the host response to severe infection is essential for developing new therapeutic strategies beyond antimicrobial treatment.
