The 2024 Precision Medicine in the Treatment of Infections conference, held in Kalavryta from October 4 to 6, gathered international experts to explore advanced research in personalized infection treatments. Over the past 18 years, the Hellenic Sepsis Study Group has worked with the Hellenic Institute for the Study of Sepsis (HISS), one of the Homi-Lung project partners, to unite Greek physicians in publishing a series of clinical papers of international significance. Their main goal is to help overcome diagnostic and therapeutic challenges.

Prof. Antoine Roquilly, Professor of Intensive Care Medicine and Chair at Nantes University Hospital, participated in the event in the context of a Long COVID session. He delivered a presentation titled “Lung Infection as Driver for Cardiovascular Sequelae: The Homi-Lung Initiative.” In this talk, he focused on how lung infections are linked to cardiovascular risks. As the coordinator of the Homi-Lung project, Prof. Roquilly highlighted the importance of addressing these complications through personalized treatment strategies.

The Homi-Lung project is developing new approaches to treat lung infections and cardiovascular diseases more effectively. Thus, it reflects the broader goals of the conference to push forward personalized, research-driven healthcare solutions.
