MESSIDORE, an Inserm programme operated by IReSP, supports innovative projects in clinical trial methodology, medical devices, and research using health data and biobanks, with the objective of strengthening collaboration between research and care. Prof. Antoine Roquilly, coordinator of the Horizon Europe project Homi-Lung, has been selected as a laureate of the MESSIDORE call for projects.
Roquilly’s awarded project, SHAPe-ID (“Infrastructure development of a perpetual platform trial for rapid evaluation of the best treatment for Severe Hospital-Acquired Pneumonia”), is led from CHU de Nantes / Inserm CIC 1413 (Unité d’investigation clinique 9). The initiative focuses on building the infrastructure for a perpetual platform trial to accelerate evaluation of therapeutic options for severe hospital-acquired (nosocomial) pneumonia.
Within Homi-Lung, the consortium is investigating host-microbiome and immune mechanisms linked to pneumonia and related cardiovascular complications. The MESSIDORE selection of SHAPe-ID reinforces the clinical research capacity around severe pneumonia, aligned with Homi-Lung’s translational objectives.
